Think Big & Be Bold

In a post on the @Issue blog, Marty Neumeier says:

For most companies, the problem with radical differentiation is the ‘radical’ part. If nobody’s doing it, you’d be crazy to do it yourself, right? Wrong. In fact, if you’re looking to become the leader in a new market space, the rule is the opposite. If ANYBODY’s doing it, you’d be crazy to do it yourself. You can’t be a leader by following the leader. SOURCE

The real estate industry has experienced dynamic changes in the past few years. If you want to become a leader in this new market space, you have to do what nobody else is doing. You have to think big and be bold.

Laura Kutner thinks big. The peace corps volunteer in Guatemala found a way to solve three problems at once: a need for more classrooms, not enough building materials, and plastic trash littered everywhere.  She gathered the community to pick up all the plastic trash to use as building supplies to build classrooms.

Cirque du Soleil thinks bold. Having started in the early eighties by street performers, the artists of Cirque du Soleil have reinvented the “circus” into something  radically different from what anyone else was doing. Those of us who have experienced a Cirque show know that even comparing it to the traditional circus doesn’t seem to do it justice. Today, Cirque shows have entertained 90 million people in over 200 cities on 5 continents. That’s the definition of bold and radical differentiation.

Connect Realty thinks big and bold. Starting operations in 2008, Connect now has over 100 agents in 14 and has big plans for this year. Even in this tumultuous market, Connect has created a bold new model for real estate and the best compensation plan in the industry to retain the best agents. Like Marty Neumeier said, “You can’t be a leader by following the leader.” Connect Realty is leading the evolution of  real estate by thinking big and being bold.
