Book Review: Linchpin
“There is an opportunity available to you, a chance to significantly change your life for the better. Not by doing something that’s easy… but by understanding how the rules of our world have fundamentally changed and by taking advantage of this moment to become someone the world believes is indispensable.”
–Seth Godin, Linchpin
We all know that the way we live and do business is drastically changing. In his newest book Linchpin, Godin challenges us and teaches us how to become an indispensible member of whatever career path we have chosen simply because that is what today’s world demands. If we want to stick around and be successful in today’s world, we have to become what Godin calls a linchpin.
linch·pin [linch-pin] –noun
1. A pin inserted through the end of an axletree to keep the wheel on.
2. Something that holds the various elements of a complicated structure together.
If you are in the real estate industry, you have the innate qualities of an entrepreneur. You want to run your business your way. These freedoms that are so hard to find in other careers present you with a tremendous opportunity to become indispensible—to your clients, your family and friends, your brokerage, and the real estate industry itself.
I’d recommend this book if you want to learn how to do what you do better.
